D. Michael Burleigh
President, Founder and Financial Advisor
I follow a few basic principles when running the practice. They are to do the right thing, do the best you can, and show people that you care.
Michael is a hands-on advisor who meets with and advises every client personally. He takes great pleasure in running the business and providing expert guidance to retirees or individuals who are fast approaching retirement. He is committed to providing clients with conservative investment strategies that will help fund a better standard of living during retirement. Just like his clients, Michael believes in a strong work ethic and knows how important it is to preserve hard-earned dollars. He started his career in the financial services industry in 1986, branching out to form his own company three years later. Since that time, he has had the privilege of meeting with more than 2,500 people who are nearing retirement or already enjoying it. Michael is a State Registered Investment Advisor and Licensed Insurance Professional. Since opening his own firm over 25 years ago, Michael has been on a mission to protect clients’ capital.
Rich Pontynen
Tax Preparation and Planning
Although Richard retired from his own firm in 2006, he still enjoys helping people with all their tax preparation needs. Richard has the unique ability to explain complex tax code in a manner that people can understand. Richard is in charge of our Tax Practice. With 29 years of experience as a partner of a tax firm in Richmond, VA, you can be confident that your tax returns will be handled by a true professional. As a Florida retiree, Rich is not holding back from taking advantage of its wonderful amenities. He likes to spend his time on the water boating and fishing. He is also involved with the Florida Oceanographic Society.
Erin Lindsay
Director of Client Services and Business Operations
Erin spent the past ten years working for Raymond James Financial Services and as an Office Manager and Paralegal for a law firm. She has a talent for working with clients and providing them with superior service. She recently moved to Florida from New Jersey and loves her new home. She is a lifelong animal lover and enjoys hiking in nature, museums, and British television.
Carty Burleigh
Client Event Coordinator
Michael’s wife Carty is responsible for scheduling our special events. She brings her creative energy and attention to detail in all she endeavors. As our Event Coordinator, her years of experience in the hospitality industry make our workshops, meetings, and client events educational and a lot of fun. Carty enjoys running, the beach, and spending time with her Golden Retriever, Maggie, and her Maine Coon, Jack. She is also involved in numerous community services and charitable activities. Her faith is an important part of her life.
Julie Ann Probst
Director of Marketing
Julie Ann is responsible for managing our Business Development & Marketing within Peak Capital Management. Her job duties include implementing marketing strategies to help educate our clientele as well as prospective clients through various financial educational workshops and webinars. Prior to joining Peak Capital Management, Julie Ann worked as a Realtor with Keller Williams in the Palm Beaches and Key Largo areas for twelve years.
